Thank you for the “Remembering A Legacy” article.

I want to clarify that Black History Month is not designated to members of the Black community who have made an impact on the Black community. It is an annual, national, and often times global celebration that recognizes and acknowledges the inventions, “firsts”, and various role(s) of Black people – and the impact made by Black people – in the United States and around the world. It is not only the impact on the Black community.

Thank you for highlighting Dr. James McCune Smith and other worthy names throughout this month.
