Ladies and gentlemen, the wait is over. After months of regular season games and weeks of post-season games, the new world champs have finally been crowned. They always say “the first one is the sweetest.” Now, all of Philly knows that taste: the taste of victory. Feast your eyes upon the Super Bowl LII winners – the Philadelphia Eagles.
It was a back-and-forth game that kept every viewer on the edge of their seat. History was made as Tom Brady and the Patriots’ offense put up 612 total yards, the most ever by any team in Super Bowl history. Even with these impressive stats, it still wasn’t enough to take down the Eagles, who were looking to make history for themselves. The win on Sunday gave Philadelphia it’s first-ever Super Bowl title since the team’s establishment in 1933. The Eagles were motivated all season and played to prove themselves.
The Eagles’ quarterback, Nick Foles, was the hero of the day as he was named the Most Valuable Player. He threw 373 yards, three touchdowns, one interception and one catch. In the game of his life, the backup played his heart out and showed the world he can handle the pressure. Despite Tom Brady’s legendary performance, notching a record 505 yards and three touchdowns, Foles got the last laugh by leading his team to their first title. Well done Philly, here’s to you.
